  • To protect the rights and welfare of the participants in research through vigilant approval and monitoring processes.
  • Functions in accordance with the ICMR guidelines (schedule Y & then proposed schedule -Z) for drug research on human.
  • Provides guidance on Good Clinical Practice
  • Provides ‘Advice On’ and ‘Approval for’ research proposals involving human participants.
  • Protects rights and welfare of the participants in research through vigilant approval and monitoring process.
  • Acts as an Independent Ethics Committe(Clinical Research) to comply to the requirements of ICMR, CTRI
